BHBIA Conference

Last week’s BHBIA conference was a vibrant hub of ideas, innovation, and networking—an event where the future of healthcare business intelligence was on full display. One of the most prominent themes running throughout the talks and workshops was, unsurprisingly, artificial intelligence (AI).

AI at the Forefront

From compliance to communication, AI featured in nearly every session.

One thought-provoking session, “AI vs Human: The Battle to Understand the Doctor-Patient Narrative,” explored the nuanced relationship between technology and empathy in healthcare. The talk explored the balance between AI efficiencies and simulated conversations with the reality of the patient experience.

It was fantastic to see how closely these discussions align with our approach at Adelphi Research, where AI is not just a buzzword but an integrated part of our processes and systems. We harness AI with purpose and impact to drive meaningful outcomes, while leveraging invaluable human insight. We’re proud to be ahead of the curve, especially when it comes to leveraging platforms like Remesh, which uses AI to deliver rapid, actionable insights—something we already utilise to great effect.

Respondent Fatigue and the Importance of Good Design

Another recurring topic was respondent fatigue—a challenge the market research industry is navigating. It was encouraging to hear practical strategies for combatting this, from smarter questionnaire design to more engaging survey experiences. This only reinforced the importance of the meticulous attention to detail we give to our materials at Adelphi Research, ensuring that every questionnaire and research interaction is as clear, concise, and considerate as possible. It also made us reflect on the benefit of gamification techniques and the agile methodologies that we utilise in our surveys.

The Power of Connection

Of course, it wasn’t all algorithms and analytics. The social aspect of the event was just as valuable. Reuniting with colleagues from across the industry, exchanging ideas, and making new connections is always a highlight. These interactions remind us of the collaborative spirit that drives our field forward.

Looking Ahead

The BHBIA conference was a powerful reminder of the pace of change in our industry—and the importance of staying connected, both to new technologies and to each other. Whether it’s integrating AI, continuing to design tools to enhance our research, or balancing innovation with our therapy area expertise.
